The Whelping Box is officially retired from this litter and they are all enjoying a 4×8 “bungalow” now. It’s designed such that I can swing some panels in to create a 4×4 for bedtime to keep everyone collected and focused on sleeping, not playing at night. The youngsters are still nursing and I feel that too much space in the dark might accidentally exclude someone from a midnight snack at this point.

I’ve moved the whole pen back towards the window as well so that I can offer them a bit more floor space in front of the couch for puppy visits. We are not quite ready to visit in the big training room in the basement yet so this is a good happy-medium. This configuration will still allow for the use of th ramp to get in and out of the pen on their own for supervised social time.

If you look at the pano pic and Wyze cam screenshot you’ll notice that today’s “new thing” (besides the new layout) is a GIANT PANDA! It was a wonderful donation to receive and will be thoroughly enjoyed I am sure. I moved it in while everyone was sleeping so if you check out the video you’ll see their first impressions.
The boys also had their first experience with semi-solid food — our Reel Puppy Chow Raw Recipe mixed with some goat’s milk. It was a big hit! I’m quite certain we’re not going to have any troubles with appetites!
We were super blessed to have a lovely visit from Rebecca and once again impressed with the ease with which Peaches welcomed visitors. The puppies are also super sociable for being still so young.
