…and lots of free time running around upstairs
THE SCARY PLASTIC SHEET: The point of the exercise is work through any apprehension around unusual textures and sounds and in so doing, gaining confidence. I’ve used tarps in the past but when this plastic arrived as packing material in a parcel last month I knew it was worth hanging on to! The scary plastic sheet proved to be Shazam’s new favorite thing in the whole world while simultaneously being Spider-Man’s arch enemy. Peter kept trying in spite of himself but after about six attempts I felt he needed to be successful, so out came the yogurt!! Suddenly, the plastic sheet lost its power and Peter became victorious! It’s a cute compilation video if you’ve got the time.
THE DOG DOOR: Our outdoor adventures between clients today were motivated by chipping ice so that hopefully we will have a drier dead grass surface to play on. I’ve become weary of dragging them out in the laundry basket so on our second trip out we began dog door skills! The “IN” to the warm was far easier than the “OUT” to the cold initially but overall they did great!
WALMART GREETERS: As a client was prepping to leave today I invited all four puppies into the unknown part of the house beyond the kitchen baby gate. I only had two takers and not surprisingly it was my two adventurers, Barry & Shazam. In defense of the two absentee greeters, the hallway was a little dark and my afterthought to turn on a light came a little too late for Tony and Peter. They enjoyed their quick tour to the front door and then did a nice recall to head back to the safety of their Superhero Lair!
I also discovered quite accidentally that these heroes are no longer contained by the x-pen half gate. Two pups were in the training room doing our breakfast barrier game and when I came up to retrieve Tony & Barry I found them touring the food room (kitchen)! I guess they won the real life Food Barrier Game today!!
