At a time in the litter’s development where most breeders are recovering from having reared them to 9 weeks or so, life these days is very busy for me with three puppies almost 11 weeks old still under my care. Under normal circumstances where I would raise one puppy we would be enrolled in Puppy Classes at Hyper Hounds Dog Training even though I have lots of puppy training skills. I value classes outside of my home because it is a different environment with great puppy and people distractors that we need to work through together — I need my puppy consistently picking me for long term success together. However, these are not three keeper-puppies, they are three puppies who have not yet landed in their fur-ever homes.
Enrolling three pups in classes is not only cost-prohibitive but would require hours in the day that I do not currently have. In the interests of doing right by these boys I have my “game-face” on and I’m continuing to get them out into the world for different individual socializing experiences but also come up with an interesting training program at home. We have been using the Do More With Your Dog Trick Dog program as our puppy training curriculum and it has been working out beautifully. I’ll be posting some videos shortly so stay tuned!
